Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography
Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography
If it's an echo.
Blood flow assessment reveals the point of ”pain.”
You can see ”damaged areas” such as cartilage and tendons.
On the spot, immediate, easy, painless.
Diagnosis as well as treatment of injections such as hydrorelease.
Safely and reliably.
At our clinic, we use ultra-high definition echo with a resolution of 0.1 mm, which has been introduced at the university hospital level. It is possible to more precisely visualize structures that are not visible on x-ray, such as ligaments and tendons, which are difficult to see with ordinary echocardiography. Depending on the area, the examination can be more precise than an MRI, less expensive than an MRI, and less time consuming during the examination.
The features of echo are (1) safety, (2) ease of use, and (3) the ability to capture moving images.
One of the unique features of our echo is the evaluation of slow-flowing vessels by introducing a micro blood flow evaluation function called iSMI. This means that we are able to ”image pain” caused by inflammation, since slow-flowing vessels indicate the presence of inflammation. By evaluating the blood vessels causing pain, we are able to limit the pain area, leading to subsequent rehabilitation and injection therapy.
Shear wave elastography has also been introduced to evaluate tissue stiffness in muscle and ligament injuries to assess the timing of return to sports and the effectiveness of stretching.
Not only for diagnosis, but also in terms of treatment, treatments such as hydrorelease, treatment of moyamoya vessels, prolotherapy, peripheral nerve release, and nerve block are accurately performed using echo. Furthermore, echo is also used during surgery for spring finger, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other conditions to reduce the incision size and surgical burden.
We would like to make sure that our clinic does echoes, which are often avoided in large hospitals due to lack of time for outpatient consultations, as we believe it is in the best interest of our patients.
Echoes are explained in detail on the related pages. Please visit the links page.

Advanced Treatments and Minimally Invasive Day Surgery for Tennis Elbow
The pathophysiology of tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis of the humerus) and its basic and next-generation treatment methods will be explained in detail. We will also introduce the non-invasive surgery for tennis elbow, which can be safely performed using high-definition echocardiography.
-
Scar-less Day Surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
We perform surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome without cutting, which can be done safely by high-definition echocardiography. Water can be used on the same day.
-
Non-Incisional Day Surgery for Dupuytren's Contracture
We offer a non-invasive Dupuytran's contracture surgery that can be performed safely by high-definition echocardiography. It is a one-day procedure that requires no hospitalization, significantly shortens the length of hospital visits, and, above all, reduces the risk of infection and postoperative pain, and leaves no scars.
-
Scar-less Day Surgery for De Quervain's Disease
We perform non-surgical surgery for de Quervain's disease, which can be done safely by high-definition echocardiography. Water can be used on the same day.
-
Scar-less Day Surgery for Trigger Digits
We offer a safe, non-invasive, one-day spring surgery using high-definition echocardiography. No stitches are required and water can be used on the same day.
-
Scar-less Day Surgery for Ganglion Cyst
We perform non-surgical ganglion surgery that can be safely performed by high-definition echo. No stitches are required and water can be used on the same day.
